AI for MSME Advancement in ASEAN

Launched in October 1, 2025, the AIM ASEAN Programme, implemented in Singapore by Project Asia Data (by BlackStorm Group), is designed to help Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance productivity, marketing, and operations.

Participants who successfully complete all 4 modules will receive a “Certificate of Completion”.

Who should join?

Singapore-registered MSMEs (private limited company, sole proprietorship, partnership, LP, LLP and etc.) are welcome ; priority for entities with no prior participant in the programme.

An MSME is defined as having a Group revenue of up to S$100 million or a maximum employment size of 200 employees.

1. What is the AIM ASEAN Programme?

AIM ASEAN (AI for MSME Advancement in ASEAN) is a two-year regional initiative by the ASEAN Foundation, under the AI Opportunity Fund: Asia Pacific, in collaboration with AVPN and supported by Google.org and the Asian Development Bank. It aims to empower 100,000 MSMEs across all ten ASEAN Member States. Through practical, localised AI training, AIM ASEAN helps small business owners use digital tools to improve operations, expand markets, and build resilience. The programme also brings together policymakers and experts to strengthen the ecosystem that enables MSMEs to thrive in the digital age.

2. Who can join the programme?

This programme (Singapore Edition) is open to Singapore-registered MSMEs across all sectors. Each business entity may register one representative to participate. Priority will be given to companies that have not participated in the AIM ASEAN Programme previously.

3. Is there any cost involved?

No. Participation in the AIM ASEAN Programme is fully sponsored and free of charge for eligible MSMEs.

4. How is the programme structured?

Participants will complete 4 structured modules designed to be practical and flexible:
– Self-Learning Module 1: Artificial Intelligence (AI) – The Basics and Use Cases (~60 mins)
– Self-Learning Module 2: The AI Adoption Journey – Steps for Business Owners (~60 mins)
– Physical Workshop Module 3 (compulsory in-person): Using AI Responsibly – Ethical & Governance Principles (~60 mins)
– Live Online Session Module 4 (recorded): Key Considerations & Framework for Successful AI Deployment (~60 mins)

Supplementary learning materials and case studies are also available. More advanced modules (optional) will be offered to alumni.

5. When can I apply and how long will the programme take?

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Batch 1 will run from October 21 to December 31, 2025. The programme is designed to be flexible. Each module takes about 60 minutes, and all four modules can typically be completed within 1-2 weeks, depending on your schedule.

6. Do I need to attend all sessions to get the certificate?

Yes. You must complete all 4 modules (including one compulsory physical session) to receive the official Certificate of Completion issued by Project Asia Data (by BlackStorm Group) on behalf of the AIM ASEAN Programme.

7. Can I change my physical session date if I’m unavailable?

Yes. Each participant is required to attend one physical session. If you cannot attend on your selected date, you may request to join another session, provided you have a valid reason (e.g., business travel, health issues). Please contact the organising team in advance to arrange for rescheduling.

8. How do I access the self-learning modules?

You’ll receive an email invitation to the STARTUPVILLAGE portal once your registration is confirmed. Use the email address provided in your registration form to log in and access the learning modules.

9. What should I bring for the physical session?

Please bring your tablet or notebook for note-taking, and don’t forget your business cards for networking.

10. Where are the physical sessions held?

Physical workshops are held at partner venues. Your confirmed venue and timing will be stated in your confirmation email.

11. What if more than one person from my company wants to join?

Currently, only one participant per entity may attend per round to ensure fair access for all businesses. However, additional employees may join future batches if slots are available. You may contact the organising committee for advice.

12. What happens after I complete the programme?

After completing the programme, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. Participants are welcome to join our partner communities to stay connected, continue learning, and collaborate with fellow MSMEs across Singapore.

13. Will photos or videos be taken during the sessions?

Yes. Photos and recordings may be taken for documentation and promotional purposes by Project Asia Data and its partners. If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform the event facilitator before the start of the session.

14. How will my personal data be used?

Your personal data will only be used for administrative, communication, and reporting purposes related to the AIM ASEAN Programme. Project Asia Data adheres strictly to Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Affiliate partners for this programme may also have access to your data. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to admin@projectasiadata.com.
